Fort children grow up in financially and socially vulnerable families. Together we give them a helping hand. Do you want to invest your time and attention in precious children? Then come and help!
JOB DESCRIPTION
The most important thing you do as a volunteer is to give your undivided attention to the children. With genuine involvement, you are busy filling their love tank. You start a conversation with a child or you play, help with homework or play a game with a small group of children. You fulfill an important task as a role model for them. You also provide practical support, e.g. preparing fruit and tidying up craft supplies. We would also like to hear what you like to do: prepare a sports activity and cook with a small group of children? Anything is possible.
WHAT KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?
You have an affinity with our target group, experience (private or professional) in dealing with children is a nice thing. You are empathetic, patient and can indicate your boundaries. You feel at home between different cultures. Het Fort is an organization that acts from a Christian identity. We believe that God finds every person valuable. That is why we are open to every child and every volunteer.
WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
You become part of the friendly and passionate Fortteam. You get the smile of a child who enjoys the positive attention you give them. And the knowledge that you are making a valuable investment in the life of a child. We also reimburse any travel expenses.
WHAT IS THE ADDED VALUE OF THIS VOLUNTEER WORK?
Volunteering at Het Fort is not something you do for nothing. You realize that you contribute something valuable to the lives of children who can use your attention and love. Together we ensure that all children are seen and can experience a beautiful afternoon. Those children who come to Het Fort grow up in (financially and socially) more vulnerable families. By being at Het Fort you offer them something that they would otherwise miss.
WORKING HOURS
In consultation we will agree on when you will come to help. We are currently looking for volunteers for Tuesday afternoon from or between 14:00 and 18:00. You can come every week, but also every other week. If you can, for example, put in your 3 hours every other week, that is also fine.
LOCATION
The Fort is located in the building of Stichting Old School. Old School Apeldoorn is a renovated old school in the middle of the Apeldoorn-Zuid district where a community center, small care farm and living room are run. Stichting Old School organizes many activities throughout the year for children, teenagers, adults and vulnerable people in society.
