Summary

In addition to parents, two external persons sit on the board of the Association: the chairman and the secretary. Do you want to become the new chairman?

Detailed description

De Wijde Wereld is an initiative of a group of enthusiastic parents of young adults with an intellectual disability. residential care home in the center of Wageningen. In 2014, residential care home De Wijde Wereld opened at Spijk 15, with six apartments, a common area and a home for care workers.

The Association aims to guarantee the well-being of the target group and facilitate their integration into society. Members of the Association are the parents and/or legal representatives of the residents. In addition, two external persons have a seat on the board of the Association: the chairman and the secretary.

The board maintains administrative contacts with, among others, care provider 's Heeren Loo (which employs the staff working in De Wijde Wereld), the Housing Association (which owns the residential care home), the Municipality of Wageningen and (national) organisations in the field of care for the disabled. The Executive Board (chairman, secretary and treasurer) prepares the General Members' Meeting and takes interim decisions, insofar as these decisions do not require approval by the General Members' Meeting.

Due to the phasing out of the current chairman, the Association is immediately looking for a person who is willing to work in the coming period in order to take over the role of chairman at a time to be determined by both parties, in order to set up a smooth transition.

We ask the board members:

· Affinity with the Association's field of work.

· Who can provide administrative input and promote cooperation.

· Administrative and/or secretarial experience is recommended.

· Living in or near Wageningen.

· Willingness to commit to this position for several years.

· Commitment of approximately 100 hours per year, both during the day and in the evening (for more detailed content, see the attached task lists).

· The board member is not professionally affiliated or has recently been affiliated with either the Wageningen Housing Foundation or the healthcare institution 's Heeren Loo.

What we offer:

· Opportunity to contribute to a small-scale and innovative residential facility for people with intellectual disabilities.

· Direct involvement with residents, supervisors and parents.

· Much appreciation!

Tasks of the chairman of the DWW association:

· Member of DB.

· Representing the association externally, writing letters and holding discussions with partners ('s Heeren Loo, Housing Association, Municipality, etc.) where necessary.

  • Prepare the AGM together with the other members of the DB based on input from members (working groups) of the association.
  • Chairing meetings.
  • Thinking and making decisions about the future of De Wijde Wereld (vision, legislation and regulations from the government)
  • To be and remain aware of legislation, regulations and financing for care for the disabled.
  • Attend meetings. That is a total of at least 12 meetings per year:
  • three times DB (preparing for AGM).
  • three times AGM
  • three times informal consultation with care duo
  • three formal consultations with 's Heeren Loo.
  • once a year/two years a 'Heidag'.
  • Meetings are mainly held in the evenings, but can also be held during the day by arrangement (except for the AGM)

More information about The Wide World can be found at http://www.dewijdewereld.org/ .

In addition, the description of the association and the board can be given more color by the secretary Dieuwke Papma ( secretaris@dewijdewereld.org ) and the treasurer Louis van Voorthuisen ( penningmeesterDWW@ziggo.nl )
