Niek is a cheerful man with Down syndrome who would like to go out with a buddy.
Who is Nick?
Niek is a 1975 man with Down syndrome. He has a mild intellectual disability. He is often cheerful and likes to do active things. His hobbies are; making/listening to music, swimming, going on trips, line dancing, singing and football: Ajax! Niek also likes to help with chores where he is proud of his physical strength and likes to show it! He can play the drums well and is active in his work at the petting zoo. He can cycle well. In dealing, Niek enjoys making jokes and playing around. Niek is a cheerful, friendly, spontaneous man who is helpful and gets along with almost everyone. He likes to learn things and show that he can do it very well. Niek hates conflict and therefore does not know what to do with it. Niek talks a bit unclear, but with peace, time and effort this will be fine. He has some difficulty with it when things don't go as expected. He may grumble for a while, but that is short-lived. He lives in a residential group outside the grounds of 's Heeren Loo.
What is Nick asking?
Niek is looking for a volunteer (man) who wants to go out with him. A buddy to go to a football game, to the city or any other fun activity. Someone who comes especially for him! Someone next to his own family. Preferably during the weekend, but during the week is also possible in consultation. It is important that he feels comfortable and that his buddy knows how to deal with him. The supervisors can discuss this with the volunteer.

just having a good conversation over a cup of coffee.
