Summary
Help with receiving residents, setting, clearing and clearing the tables and cleaning the kitchen. Volunteers eat for free.Detailed description
The World Kitchen project was set up to create mutual connections between COA residents or residents of another country of origin with residents from Apeldoorn.
Every Friday, one or two dishes from the country of origin are prepared by chefs in meeting center De Graanhof . Guests, volunteers and the cooks will then eat the meal together at 5.30 pm. Up to 25 guests can book their participation in advance. In addition to the guests, there is also cooking for the cooks and the number of volunteers who are present. The cooks and volunteers eat for free.
The chefs start cooking in the kitchen earlier. The volunteers will set up the dining room and set the tables from about 4.45 pm. Items can be prepared earlier in the kitchen on trays.
At 5.30 pm the guests are present and the dishes are served by the cooks and volunteers. After the dish has been consumed, the cooks and volunteers clear the tables.
They clear the dining room together when everyone has finished eating. There are two dishwashers. Not all used crockery and cooking utensils fit in those two dishwashers. The cooks and volunteers will therefore have to wash dishes by hand. After washing up, they clean the kitchen and put away the used cooking utensils. The volunteers and cooks work closely together.
