You'll spend a year with a young person between the ages of 12 and 25. You'll do fun things together, have conversations, and sometimes help with homework.
There are many reasons why young people could use a buddy: loneliness, difficulty connecting with others, a challenging home life, or problems with motivation at school or with friends. Even if you're new to the Netherlands and want to get to know your surroundings, a buddy can be a valuable addition to your integration process. Whatever the reason, everyone needs some temporary support. The key elements of a buddy relationship are equality, camaraderie, accessibility, and trust.
