Cycling buddies Apeldoorn and surroundings are looking for cycling volunteers and a cycling coordinator in De Maten
In and around the municipality of Apeldoorn you can cycle wonderfully. For residents who are less mobile, this beautiful environment is unfortunately only accessible to a limited extent. While it is then extra nice to go outside, keep moving and be among people.
Fietsmaatjes Apeldoorn en Omstreken enables anyone who can no longer cycle independently to go out on an (electrically assisted) tandem bike with a cycling buddy (cycling volunteer). Now tandem bikes are often only available to residents of institutions, Fietsmaatjes also makes them accessible to people who still live at home.
Who are we looking for?
Cycling volunteers
Do you like being outdoors and do you enjoy doing this with someone who can no longer cycle independently? Then sign up as a Cycling Volunteer!
- You determine the cycling frequency and duration of the bike ride together with your cycling buddy: usually this is once a week or once every two weeks.
- After an introduction and an instructional ride on the tandem bike, you will be paired with a permanent cycling buddy
- You make the cycling arrangements with your cycling buddy yourself and reserve the tandem bike in the reservation schedule
- You collect the tandem bicycle from the bicycle shed in your neighbourhood/village and then cycle to your cycling buddy
- You take a bike ride together and decide together where you want to go and whether you will take a break along the way with a picnic or a drink on a terrace.
- You are part of a team of cycling volunteers who exchange experiences with each other and if you have any questions you can contact the coordinator
What do we have to offer?
An enthusiastic team. Setting up something new together, that gives you energy! Moreover, we do not reinvent the wheel ourselves, but we are helped on our way with the starter package of Fietsmaatjes.nl. As a result, we have a solid working method that offers our volunteers support and guarantees careful handling of our cycling buddies. Finally, volunteer meetings are held regularly for information, exchange of experiences and conviviality.
