In 2022, Stichting Fietsmaatjes Apeldoorn en Omstreken purchased 4 side-by-side tandems to enable people who are less mobile to go on beautiful bike rides together with a volunteer. This year we want to expand further to Woudhuis/Osseveld.
Do you live in North Apeldoorn and are you looking for volunteer work in an enthusiastic and involved team where you can also enjoy the beautiful nature, then register with us! Setting up something new together that is meaningful to your own neighborhood, that gives you energy!
For this we are looking for bicycle managers in your area for the preventive maintenance of the side-by-side tandem. In addition, we are also looking for coordinators who can meet new registrations and do a test drive. The coordinator connects cycling buddies and keeps in touch with them about their experiences. Bicycle volunteers are also welcome!

“Bicycle Buddies” is a (national) initiative that enables anyone who is not (or no longer) able to cycle independently to set out on an (electrically assisted) side-by-side tandem with a bicycle buddy (bicycle volunteer). At the moment, side-by-side tandems are often only available for residents of institutions, but Fietsmetjes also makes them accessible to people who still live at home.
