From 2022 onwards, the Fietsmaatjes Apeldoorn en Omstreeken Foundation has purchased duo bicycles to enable people who are less mobile to make beautiful cycling trips together with a volunteer. Cycling is now taking place in North; South; De Maten and Ugchelen.
If you live in North Apeldoorn and are looking for volunteer work in an enthusiastic and committed team where you can also enjoy the beautiful nature, please register with us! Setting up something new together that is meaningful to your own neighborhood, that gives you energy!
We are also looking for bicycle managers for the preventive maintenance of the duo bicycles. We are also looking for a coordinator who can meet new registrations and do a test drive. The coordinator links cycling buddies together and keeps in touch with them about their experiences.

“Bicycle Buddies” is a (national) initiative that enables anyone who is not (or no longer) able to cycle independently to set out on an (electrically assisted) side-by-side tandem with a bicycle buddy (bicycle volunteer). At the moment, side-by-side tandems are often only available for residents of institutions, but Fietsmetjes also makes them accessible to people who still live at home.
