Summary

The Beat Batten Foundation is committed to raising awareness about Batten's disease and raising funds to facilitate research into Batten's disease.

Detailed description

Batten (also called childhood dementia) is a hereditary, rare and fatal metabolic disease in children. These children are apparently born healthy, but often lose their sight between their 5th and 8th year of life. Then they have to deal with various other types of failure of their bodily functions. They lose more and more muscle strength, motor skills, speech and cognitive skills. They have seizures and lose their memory. These children often die between the ages of 15 and 25. A treatment to inhibit, stop or cure the disease is not yet available. That's why funding research into this disease is so incredibly important. Only with research can that much needed treatment be developed and children with Batten get a chance for a fair future.

The help we need volunteers is spacious, has a number of examples;

- organizing deposit (packaging) promotions at local supermarkets.

- organizing a sponsored run (currently corona-proof).

- organizing sponsored sports competitions.

- be present at street fairs to increase brand awareness.

- participate in the digital collection week (in the month of June)

- distributing and managing donation boxes at local entrepreneurs.

- etc.

We would like to get in touch with volunteers who want to help us with this!

About Beat Batten
