Who is coming especially for Patricia?

Patricia is a 48-year-old woman with a moderate intellectual disability. She lives in a residential group on the grounds of 's Heeren Loo. During the day she has a number of daytime activities per week. Unfortunately, she has been home since the corona virus. She has a social-emotional level of 3 years and a cognitive level of 5 years. She can have a conversation, appropriate to her level, this is not always easy to understand. But the longer you know her, the better you learn to understand her. She can also perform simple tasks and make simple choices. She is small in stature, has a mischievous face with slightly squinted eyes. She walks slowly, walks short distances, but prefers to sit in a wheelchair. Patricia is interested in guiding the group and has a very nice, sweet side. But when she's overstimulated or has to wait too long, she can express her displeasure by grumbling, biting her hand, or pulling her hair. Her supervisors know how to tell you what to do in this situation. With clarity and understanding we have come a long way.

Patricia likes to colour, likes to tear paper, likes to watch movies on the tablet, and likes to do pleasant things in the vicinity of someone.

What does Patricia ask?

For Patricia we are looking for a volunteer who likes to do fun things with her. You have to imagine that she lives in a group all the time, then 1 on 1 attention is very nice. Have a drink with her somewhere, go to the Intratuin, to the petting zoo, visit your home, drive a bit, etc. Someone who understands or wants to understand her behavior, someone who can be clear and has patience. Someone who can see and enjoy the beautiful things in people. Preferably someone who wants to come especially for her once a month. The day or time does not matter.
