Christian is a 14-year-old boy with a mild intellectual disability. We're looking for a buddy who wants to do real boy stuff with him.
Who is Christian?
Christian is a 14-year-old boy with a mild intellectual disability. Emotionally, he functions on a toddler/preschool level. He can do everything independently, but needs help with verbal boundaries, agreements and structure. He is verbally strong For a few years now, he has been living in a residential group in a residential area in Apeldoorn. During the day he goes to school. In his spare time he likes to hang out with boys/men. Doing an activity together such as; gaming, football, walking, cycling and drawing.
What does Christian ask?
He would really like it if he had a buddy who comes by once a week (less is also negotiable).
A moment when he gets all the attention. Preferably a man with the same interests and the ability to relate to his experience. Someone who wants to do fun boy things with him like; playing football, walking, cycling, gaming, etc. Someone who stands firmly in his shoes and can offer him structure and boundaries. Perhaps someone who has experience with young people. Preferably between the ages of 20 and 35. Do you have a moment in the week to be there especially for him? The day/frequency and time are in consultation.
