Dion is a cheerful 16-year-old boy with a moderate intellectual disability. He likes to go to the pool, but can't do it alone.

Who is Dion?

Dion is a pleasant, cheerful boy who likes to talk and joke. He has a moderate intellectual disability. He lives in a residential group with other young people outside the grounds of 's Heeren Loo. He can clearly indicate that he likes you being there. Oa because of his PDD NOS he is very interested in certain subjects. He knows a lot and knows a lot of facts. Dion enjoys playing with Lego, watching TV and playing Nintendo games. He also likes to go to a swimming pool. Preferably with multiple facilities, such as a slide. He would very much like to go to the swimming pool with a buddy once a week/once every two weeks. He has his swimming diploma A and B. He likes to play in the pool; such as snorkeling, throwing a ball or going down the slide. He needs proximity and is not traffic safe. It's more fun with two people than alone!

What is Dion asking?

Dion is looking for a buddy who can go to the pool with him. A swimming pool with nice facilities, such as Malkander or the Koekkoek or perhaps another nice swimming pool. He is available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm every week, or every other week on Friday or Saturday. The frequency is negotiable. We are looking for a volunteer who gives him attention and closeness, which can be obvious. His supervisors will help you on your way and tell you all about the guidance method “give me the 5”.

Do you like swimming and would you like to see Dion shine in the pool?

We offer you

  • An end of year gift
  • Insured for WA and accidents
