Casper is a 26 year old man with a severe intellectual disability. A volunteer who comes especially for him would be great!
Who is Casper?
Casper is a sweet, quiet and often cheerful man who is always up for a joke. He has a serious intellectual disability and functions at the level of a toddler. Casper lives in a residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo, where he receives 24-hour care. He can laugh at everything you do. He loves to chat, but also communicates a lot non-verbally. He has gestures for; work, mom, driving, dirty diaper, not listening, etc. Casper has autism and processes stimuli differently than we do. At home he likes to play with his coins and likes to listen to music. He likes to ride his tricycle. On Sundays he goes with his mother for a night away. He looks forward to this all week and then points to the car that he has on his piece of paper. He always has this drawing with him. He has difficulty walking and wears special boots. Casper likes to do things together, it can't be crazy enough. But there is not always time for this. A volunteer would therefore be very nice for him!
What is Casper asking?
For Casper we are looking for a volunteer who likes to make jokes, who could come a fixed part of the day per week, because he likes structure and predictability. This could be on Monday afternoon/evening, Tuesday afternoon/evening, Wednesday evening (preference) or Saturday during the day. He would like to drive a car with his volunteer (kilometers are reimbursed) or do fun activities such as going by boat or train or to McDonalds or to our Brasserie. On Wednesday evenings there are various activities organized by 's Heeren Loo at the residential care park. For example, a movie or disco night. He would like to go there with a volunteer. Just having fun is enough! The day and frequency are in consultation.
