Who is Mattie?
Mattie is a 73-year-old woman with a severe intellectual disability. She functions at the level of a baby/toddler. She doesn't talk, but makes some sounds, so you know if she likes something or not. She understands simple sentences. Her supervisors are happy to teach you more about this. Mattie visibly enjoys fun and 1 on 1 attention. She likes to cuddle, likes to cycle with her side-by-side tandem, likes to go for a walk through our beautiful residential care park and likes to go on fun outings or to activities organized by 's Heeren Loo. Escape from the group pressure and time for Mattie.
What is Matt asking?
For Mattie we are looking for a volunteer who wants to cycle with her on the side-by-side tandem during the week after 6 p.m. or during the weekend, take her for a walk or take her for a nice outing. The volunteer is also welcome when activities are organized by 's Heeren Loo, so that Mattie can go out together. Her supervisors are happy to tell you more about her and what she likes. An hour a month is already very nice, more often is certainly possible. The day, time and frequency are negotiable. Will you come and meet Mattie without obligation?
