Summary
You help at the Julianamarkt (Sunday 21 May) at the children's workshop and/or the bblthk's second-hand book stall.Detailed description
On Sunday 21 May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Juliana market will take place in the Julianastraat in Wageningen. This is a cozy flea market with activities for children. The bblthk is also participating for the first time! We organize a workshop for children from 4 years old and sell second-hand children's books. This is how we bring the fun in stories to children and their parents. For this we are looking for approx. 6 volunteers.
What are you going to do?
You either help at the children's workshop or in the book stall.
Help with the children's workshop:
- This is the workshop: We read the book Tangramkat in our reading tent. Then children (4-99 years) will make their own Tangram figure. Then they make a painting or drawing of it. Each work of art is rewarded with a free second-hand book. And children have a chance to win a great prize.
- You help set up and break down the activity.
- You support the reading consultant in reading or you read aloud yourself
- You support two professional teachers in guiding the painting/drawing
Helping in the bookstall:
- You help set up and clean up the book stall with written off youth books
- You help with the sale of the books (50 cents each)
Who are we looking for?
- You are at least 16 years old
- You are enthusiastic about reading and/or painting
- Preferably you have experience working with children aged approx. 4 to 10 years and their parents/supervisors
- You are available on Sunday 21 May: either from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Of course you can also help all day!
- You have a flexible, positive attitude
What do we offer you?
- A nice afternoon in the nicest street in Wageningen!
- A short briefing in advance to be able to do the activities properly
- On-site guidance by professionals
- Volunteer work in a team of people who are enthusiastic about reading and/or painting
