Skadi is a center in Wageningen where you can work on your recovery and personal development together with others. Do you want to contribute to a place where recovery, resilience, and development take center stage? Then read on.
At Skadi in Wageningen, we believe that everyone who has experienced a disruptive event or lives with a mental diversity can recover and build a meaningful life. Together with volunteers, we enjoy building a safe and equitable environment where everyone can learn and develop in their own way and at their own pace.
At Skadi, we also enjoy working with our hands. Sometimes it is nice to clear your head for a while and create something beautiful with your hands. Mosaic making invites relaxation, creativity, and connection.
We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who enjoys setting up the mosaic activity together with participants. You don't need to be a teacher. The most important thing is that you enjoy making mosaics.
As a volunteer, you guide the activity in a way that suits both you and the participants. Together, we look at how to structure the meetings so that everyone feels welcome and can participate with pleasure.
Who are you?
- You have personally experienced a disruptive event and/or live with mental diversity.
- You have respect for different life stories and backgrounds, and everyone's own process.
- You support the recovery idea that everyone with a disruptive experience and/or mental diversity can lead a meaningful life.
- You work from a position of equality; you do not stand above the group.
- You have an affinity for mosaics or experience with the technique.
- You enjoy guiding people on an equal footing.
- You are enthusiastic, patient, and social.
- You enjoy contributing to a place where people can meet, learn, and grow.
- You have a command of the Dutch language.
What are you going to do?
- You prepare the activity.
- You guide participants during the mosaic activity.
- You create a pleasant, safe, and inviting atmosphere.
- You contribute ideas regarding the content of the meetings.
- You encourage participants to get creative in their own way and at their own pace.
