Skipper for The Bicycle Boat

For the 2024 sailing season, De Fietsboot has vacancies for volunteer skippers and hosts (m/f). They will sail with passengers according to a schedule on the Vecht from Nieuwersluis to Maarssen v.v. or on the Loosdrechtse Plassen.

Job Requirements Skipper:

• valid boating license to operate the relevant bike boat category: minimum small boat license and VHF certificate.
• Demonstrated experience as a skipper on a large motorboat, preferably with passenger vessels.
• Thorough knowledge of maritime safety regulations and procedures.
• A collegial and service-oriented attitude

Day(s) and dayparts:

• Daily: Morning and afternoon.

Working hours, frequency and duration: 

The boating season runs from Easter to the end of September. In principle, a skipper is available for a whole working day. In consultation can be determined when you sail. To this end, a schedule is drawn up each month by the planner.

Skills: 

Minimum sailing license 1 and VHF radio certificate.

General: 

A friendly group of volunteers who work together to sail our guests safely across the Vecht and/or the Loosdrecht lakes. We meet several times a season to exchange news and to chat.

Onboarding and supervision: 

There is an induction program where you will be introduced to the boat and the route by an experienced skipper.

Schooling: 

For boaters, the minimum requirements are Boating License 1 and VHF radio certificate.

Expense allowance: 

No expense or travel reimbursement.
