Employee Animal Ambulance Driver

The activities are very diverse; you free animals from dire situations, take them as safely as possible to a shelter such as an animal shelter or veterinarian, check stray animals on chip and return found animals to their owner. You can also be called in to assist the fire brigade, police and other services. You do this together with colleagues, who all have a big heart for animals. No report or service is the same and you see that as a challenge.

Your flexibility and creativity really come into their own. With your calm but decisive way of acting you reassure animals and people.

The work at the animal ambulance is rewarding and an adventure, but it can also be emotionally difficult. After all, not every report ends well. We are therefore looking for people who are mentally strong in their shoes.

The tasks:

• Answering a phone call, providing information and advice and prioritizing trips.
• Providing first aid to injured / sick animals.
• Transporting injured, found and / or deceased animals to the relevant asylum, shelter and / or crematorium.
• Collection of deceased pets from public roads.
• Assisting third parties such as the police, fire brigade and municipal services during a report.

What are we looking for?

• Affinity with animals and the work of animal welfare.
• Available for a minimum of 2 shifts a week, 1 night shift in the month and 1 weekend shift in the month.
• Secondary vocational education work and thinking level

And are you:

• In possession of a valid driving license B with several years of driving experience.
• Willing to attend the courses and meeting offered.
• Stress resistant, flexible and you are in good physical health / fitness.

As an animal ambulance driver you start as an aspiring, after proven availability you will initially move on as a co-driver, if you have built up enough experience here and after a driving test you will eventually be deployed as a driver.
