Sluit jij je aan bij de Vrijwilligers Palliatieve Terminale Zorg?


Vrijwilligers Palliatieve Terminale Zorg (VPTZ) Wageningen en Renkum is er voor mensen en hun familie in de laatste levensfase. Het belangrijkste wat onze vrijwilligers doen is 'er zijn'. VPTZ-vrijwilligers worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd en opgeleid om kwalitatief goede zorg te bieden. Ze mogen pas daadwerkelijk hulp verlenen nadat ze een opleiding gevolgd hebben. Daarnaast worden ze altijd begeleid door een ervaren coördinator. Ze verrichten geen verpleegkundige of huishoudelijke taken, maar verlenen dezelfde zorg die familie of naasten bieden. Denk hierbij aan taken als:

·        Waken bij de terminale patiënt, in overleg 's nachts of overdag;

·        Verzorgen van de patiënt (draaien in bed, helpen bij drinken en eten, enzovoort);

·        Ondersteunen van de mantelzorger;

·        Luisteren en 'er zijn';

·        Signaleren en bespreken van eventuele veranderingen.

Het doel van onze vrijwilligers is om het de zieke zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken, zodat mantelzorgers de mogelijkheid hebben om even rustig te slapen, boodschappen te doen, andere zaken te regelen of gewoon even tot rust te komen.
