Detailed description
The Red Cross focuses on preventing and limiting the consequences of an emergency situation. In an emergency situation (small or large-scale), people can mean more to themselves and others if they have the right knowledge and skills and a good network. We call that being well prepared. In the specially designed activities with the theme Well Prepared, we offer the most vulnerable people the opportunity to make a start to prepare properly. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE? • You organize the process around one or more activities with the theme 'Well Prepared'. So: you recruit the supervisors and you put the groups together with participants. You also coordinate and facilitate the meetings and you are the point of contact for the volunteer counselors. • You are in close contact with the participants, so that you can monitor progress. At the end of each activity you arrange the evaluation and conclusion or follow-up. • Local cooperation is important for setting up, so you establish and maintain contact with other (welfare and volunteer) organizations. • And to keep everyone involved, you periodically organize meetings with all volunteers to exchange experiences. In addition, you regularly consult with the board member Well Prepared (Self-reliance) and the professional in your area. WHAT ARE YOUR QUALITIES? You have a great deal of empathy, patience and affinity with the target group of our activities. This target group includes children up to 12 years old, vulnerable elderly people, migrants. You enjoy working together, but you can also work independently. You subscribe to and promote the principles of the Red Cross. You have affinity with the theme Well prepared for emergency situations and with the theme safety. Furthermore, you can quickly create a 'social map of the neighborhood' and you have insight into which other (assistance) organizations are active in the neighborhood. You can set and monitor your own limits. WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU? • You are never alone, because there is a regular consultation moment in the office and you are supported by a professional. • We offer you a fun and educational work environment, training courses, workshops, intervision, theme meetings and convivial meetings. And further: • The ability to gain knowledge and experience as a coordinator for a group of volunteers. • The possibility to follow internal training courses, including the introduction course of the Red Cross. • Travel and expense allowance; • insurance; SPENDING TIME? The coordinator is involved in the activities on average around 4 hours a week. In the start-up phase of a project this can be a little more, depending on your own wishes and possibilities. You work both in the office and in the neighborhood. You are flexible in terms of commitment. The agreements in the neighborhood can sometimes fall on a different day. INTEREST?
