Making a contribution to the future
Talin (16) about working at the Regional Historic Center of Vecht en Venen: 'You do important work because you help to make archive documents public. It is also very pleasant and relaxed to work here'.
Do you, like Talin, also want to ensure that historical documents are accessible and readable for future generations? Then we are looking for you at the Regional Historic Center of Vecht en Venen! We are the regional archives of the municipalities of Stichtse Vecht, De Ronde Venen, De Bilt and Weesp. We manage and store several kilometers of historical archive material that visitors can view freely in our study rooms in Breukelen and Weesp.
During your social internship you will ensure that people can easily consult our archive documents. You do this, among other things, by scanning documents so that we can put them online, reading old Dutch names and trying to translate them, and by packing archive documents in acid-free boxes that provide better protection for the documents in the longer term. Of course we will help you with this.
We offer:
- A great opportunity to pass on the local history to the next generations.
- Good guidance and always the chance to ask a question.
- A friendly team and unlimited chocolate milk.
- Flexible working hours.
- Ability to grow and learn. That you want to learn something is more important than that you can already do something.
- The chance to become a box folder record holder.
We are open every working day from 08.30 to 17.00, so the hours can be agreed in consultation. You can start right away!
We ask:
- Willing to work for at least three consecutive hours.
- Enthusiasm and commitment.
- Able to work well together.
- That you especially enjoy coming here!
Working hours, frequency and duration: Hours are in consultation.
General: Thanks to your efforts, local history can be passed on to future generations.
Induction method and guidance:
You will be supervised every working day by one of our permanent employees.
