Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate animal lovers who can support our animal food bank with the packaging of the animal food packages.

Detailed description

Every month you pack about 25 to 50 packages and you can see on our social media exactly which animals you made happy that month with food and treats!

We can use urgent help as some packers are down. You pack at home, so as long as you live in the region of our food bank, location is not a problem (Eindhoven, Veldhoven, Boxtel, Vught, Sint-Michielsgestel, Heusden, 's-Hertogenbosch, Oss, Bernheze, Landerd, Uden and Meierijstad). It is an independent task that you can schedule when it suits you. At night, during the day, at the weekend, during the week, during your child's afternoon nap, all is fine, as long as the packages are ready on the day of the route.

You are going to put together packages for a number (or one large) route so that our deliverers can deliver them.

- What does that mean?

We will assign you a route in your region. For that route, you make all the packages for the clients in that region at your home. In the beginning, of course, we guide you from A to B, but in the end you get to work independently. You manage your stock, ensure (in consultation with us) that there is enough. Then you will hear from us on which date the route will be driven and then you can get started! You pack kibble, wet food and snacks, according to certain guidelines, for the right number of animals in that family. Sometimes a small extra or, for example, flea products. You take a picture of the package and pack it with the name clearly visible. Want to see examples of what that looks like? Collages of the packages and their (animal) recipients are posted daily on our social media (Animal Emergency Aid Noord-Brabant).

When everything is packed, one of the delivery volunteers will visit you to load the packages and deliver the route.

- What do we need from you?

*A volunteer who can handle something physically, managing your stock can be physically intensive work, large chunks of bags weigh 11 to 15 kg! The large packages can also add up to that weight. You must be physically able to carry this. Many volunteers drop a few hours of gym to pack ;-)

* You have a car, it doesn't have to be a big car, but managing your stock also includes collecting food and snacks from one of our storage locations. We will of course support you in this as well.

* A space of at least 2 square meters is required where the feed can be stored, this space must be clean, dry and free of vermin. Think of a storage room, closet, garage (if dry) or room.

* You support our mission & vision (is published on our website, unfortunately you are not allowed to put a link in this text). Not every Pet Food Bank has the same guidelines. We started our pet food bank with a clear line of thought that is expressed in our Mission & Vision. As a volunteer of our organization it is important that you can relate to this and that you can propagate it to the outside world.

- How much time will that take me?

That is a difficult one to estimate, it depends on how many packages and time you have free per month. And how fast you pack. A small route (about 20-25 packages) costs an experienced volunteer a total of about 3 hours per month (travel time not included).

- What are you looking for people?

We are looking for people who are not afraid to work independently. We do not have a central location, so you work from home and receive (mainly remote) guidance. In addition, you are flexible and you can switch quickly, there are sometimes last-minute changes to, for example, the content of packages, you have to be able to anticipate this.

- What do I get in return?

You will receive a nice team, possibly kilometer allowance and a lot of gratitude ❤️ There is room for growth in the future to expand your tasks. Think of coordinating donations, board work, supervising new volunteers yourself, acquisition and, if appropriate, administrative work.

As a volunteer with us, you ensure that more than 120 families that have fallen into financial need with their animals, and thus almost 400 animals, have sufficient feed each month and do not have to be relocated/ handed over. You help ensure that a number of people can have an assistance dog. And you help ensure that several children with behavioral problems can find peace, comfort and unconditional love with a pet, despite the difficult situation they are in.

Interested? Please take a look at our website and social media before responding, that gives a clear picture of what we do. You will find our website with this vacancy, here you will also find the links to our social media, or search for Dierennoodhulp Noord-Brabant and/or Pet Support
