Summary

As coordinator of the Education working group, you help increase the involvement of young and old in the heritage of the region.

Detailed description

Museum Kennemerland

Museum Kennemerland is a historical museum in the heart of Midden-Kennemerland. Our mission is to connect the public with the cultural heritage of the region, from Velsen to Alkmaar. As coordinator of the Education working group, you play a crucial role in developing and coordinating educational programs for schools and communities, and work with a team of passionate volunteers on innovative and accessible heritage education.

What makes volunteering with us special?

At Museum Kennemerland you get the chance to contribute to culture and heritage in a dynamic and inspiring environment. We offer space for your ideas and support your development with workshops and training. Moreover, you will end up in a close-knit team that values social connection.

Why is this feature special?

As coordinator of the Education working group, you will help increase the involvement of young and old in the heritage of the region. You will be the linchpin in developing learning programs and maintain valuable contacts with schools, healthcare institutions and heritage partners. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen your organizational and communication skills and to gain experience in education and heritage within a museum environment.

Tasks:

· Coordinating the activities of the Education working group and further developing the De Kern van Kennemerland curriculum together with the team.

· Drafting and implementing education policy, aimed at schools and healthcare institutions.

· Actively maintaining contacts with regional schools, heritage institutions and healthcare institutions.

· Organizing and coordinating children's afternoons and other educational activities.

· Working on the accessibility of the museum by developing teaching programs, teaching kits and theme lessons.

· Supporting the project leader in the Cultural Heritage Education project, which integrates heritage education in primary schools in Midden-Kennemerland.

What are you bringing?

· Affinity with heritage and education; an education in heritage, history, or pedagogy is a plus.

· Organizational and project-based experience, preferably within a volunteer organization.

· Creativity and communication skills to reach different target groups.

Do you want to be part of our passionate team and contribute to the preservation of our heritage? Send your motivation and resume!

About Museum Kennemerland

Museum Kennemerland is the regional historical museum for Midden-Kennemerland, located in the former town hall of Wijk aan Zee en Duin in Beverwijk. Our collection offers a window on the rich history of the region, with special attention to themes such as archaeology, country estates, Velser pottery and the famous Kinheim carpets.

With changing exhibitions and various activities, we bring the story of the region to life for a wide audience, from young to old. In addition to the museum itself, we develop educational programs for schools and activities for residents of care institutions, creating a valuable connection with the community.

Museum Kennemerland relies entirely on the efforts of enthusiastic volunteers, who together contribute to the preservation of our local heritage. We regularly look for new team members who want to contribute to our mission to make history and culture accessible to everyone.
