Knitting coordinator (volunteer, based in Apeldoorn)

The network of knitters who make bandages for people affected by leprosy continues to grow. We now have hundreds of knitters and thousands of bandages with which we can care for people after operations by our doctors in Africa and Asia. It sometimes becomes a bit too much for us.

That is why we are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Knitting Coordinator who will be the central point of contact for our knitting ambassadors from Apeldoorn and who will support the logistics process.

What are you going to do?

As a knitting coordinator you are the linchpin in the knitting network of Leprazending. You:

• Maintains contact with our knitting ambassadors and ensures that they receive all necessary information and materials for presentations.
• Helps organize thank-you moments or meetings for knitting ambassadors and knitters and, together with the administration team, ensures proper registration.
• Coordinates the logistical process surrounding the bandages: receipt, packing and shipping, together with colleagues from Leprazending.
• Thinks about (annual) fundraising activities for the wound care program, together with colleagues from fundraising and administration.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Available at least 1 day per week (spread over several days is possible).
• Preferably work from our office in Apeldoorn.
• Enjoy going out regularly to meet knitting ambassadors.
• Good at organizing, communicating and collaborating.
• Has an affinity with the work of Leprosy Mission and is happy to help people affected by leprosy.
• Is prepared to (co-)organize the annual ambassador day
