What are you going to do?

Do you have an affinity with woodworking and would you like to get started with wood together with our residents? We have a beautiful wood workshop where you can enjoy yourself creatively with our residents. Fun comes first here! Our expert work supervisors know everything about the residents and their background, they know less about wood. We can really use your creativity there.

As a volunteer at IrisZorg you can really make a difference in the lives of our clients. They often live in a small world with few family or friends. Loneliness is lurking. As a volunteer you can break through this and let people participate again.

For IrisZorg, location Het Hoogeland in Beekbergen, we are looking for a friendly approach person who likes to roll up their sleeves together with our clients. The Work, Learning & Activities (WL&A) department offers, among other things, daytime activities to our residents on our beautiful grounds, where we take care of crops and animals, do production work, but also like to make beautiful things out of wood.

What do you get in return?

Of course you also get a lot in return for your enthusiastic efforts. You meet interesting people, each with their own special story. You are of great significance to their recovery. This way you experience how fun and meaningful it is to work for our clients. But we also ensure that you can carry out your volunteer work properly. We offer guidance, training, insurance, clear agreements laid down in a volunteer agreement and volunteer compensation.

Who are you?

You are open to life. You can empathize with others without judgment. You are reliable and you are able to establish a nice contact with our clients. You listen to their special story and there is always room for a joke. If necessary, you can also be clear and indicate your boundaries. You know how to activate and enthuse someone in a natural way.

You are available at least one day per week.

Who are we?

IrisZorg is there for young and old and for all layers of the population. We are there for people who have problems in the field of finances, relationships, work or (mental) health. Usually in combination with an addiction and/or (imminent) homelessness. We support clients towards recovery from integrated addiction treatment and social counseling. We can use your help as a volunteer.

The Hoogeland in Beekbergen

Iriszorg Het Hoogeland is a sheltered housing facility where residents and a number of clients from elsewhere have daytime activities. It is a special place where people with different backgrounds live, from social shelter and often with an (active) addiction.

We offer people a place to be and support them where possible to control their use and live a good life. We are happy to offer them meaningful daytime activities.

IrisZorg works from the recovery method. Recovery is a personal and unique process, learning to live with a (past) of addiction and social vulnerability.
