We are looking for hostesses and/or hosts during the afternoon shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon.
In consultation, you will be scheduled one afternoon per week or possibly every 2 weeks. Markt 17 is an accessible meeting place. A place where you can meet other people and/or eat together. A place where people listen and where attention, respect and hospitality are central.
Job description:
Receiving visitors and making contact with them. Having a chat and/or offering a listening ear. Offering coffee or tea. Maintaining a good atmosphere (house rules) in which every visitor feels at ease and safe. Keeping the visitor area tidy and carrying out all the practical tasks necessary for this.
Job requirements:
You work according to the vision of Markt 17: an open and helpful attitude towards others. No condemnation of the visitor's being different. Everyone is allowed to be who they are. For this function it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language. Knowledge of English or other languages are also welcome because of possible non-Dutch speaking visitors.
What do you have to offer the volunteer?:
As a means of equipping, courses in Presence are offered. The coordinator is the point of contact for questions and offers coaching/guidance. Both in the corridors and by appointment. The coordinator also points out various relevant courses and training that are organised locally. Occasionally, volunteer meetings are organised. Here, one meets fellow volunteers and discusses the work together. A collective accident and damage insurance has been arranged for volunteers by the municipality of Wageningen.
What makes the work worthwhile?:
Our volunteers work in a friendly and relaxed environment. Volunteers meet people they would not normally encounter. This gives you the opportunity to broaden your social network. Offering hospitality and a listening ear is not a one-way street: Attention and interest are often returned to you by visitors.

2:45 PM to 6:00 PM
