Activities in nature with groups of children

FURTHER DESCRIPTION

Guiding groups of primary school children on an adventure in nature. IVN is an organization for nature education and sustainability. Groups of primary school students are received at Het Woldhuis in Apeldoorn, who often stay there for a whole week and experience a nature week. The program consists of all kinds of activities to get to know nature better, such as an exploration trip, nature management (in which tools are used in nature), field biology (in which the cycle in nature is explored) and own research (in which small groups explore a topic in depth. and an exhibition about organizing and presenting to each other).

Activities: co-supervising groups and material control is possible;

- Tuesday: during nature management (part of the day or full day), - Wednesday: field biology (eg 09:00 - 13:00), - Thursday: own research (full day or tomorrow/afternoon).

The students are in grades 6, 7 or 8 of primary school. An employee of Het Woldhuis introduces the activities that are carried out together with teachers from the school, trainees, parents and, for example, a volunteer.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Working hours: to be determined in consultation. Even if the days or times mentioned are not convenient, we may still be able to make agreements about keeping, checking and repairing materials. We are happy to agree fixed times of a full or half day. On Tuesday and Thursday preferably all day, Wednesday morning.

We are looking for volunteers or interns who;
- enjoy working with children in an inspiring way
- feel a bit of responsibility for that
- check materials / lesson boxes / lesson letters afterwards.

Knowledge of nature is useful but not necessary; after a few times you already know more about nature than the average Dutch person. You will be trained in practice; after some time, independently guiding the activity or part of it may be an option. Is also suitable as a learning experience or can be noted on your own CV.

A VOG (declaration of conduct) is required for all our vacancies. This will be reimbursed by us. There is a volunteer allowance.
