Summary

The board of Humanitas Nederrijn is looking for an enthusiastic co-director for the Maatjes activities portfolio.

Detailed description

Humanitas is there for people who cannot make it on their own. The service is personal and small-scale. People-to-people contacts are organized locally. That approach works.

Every year, our approximately 25,000 volunteers help approximately 75,000 people to change their situation on their own.

Humanitas Lower Rhine department is one of the 80 departments of Humanitas. Our working area includes the municipalities of Ede, Wageningen, Rhenen and Veenendaal.

The primary task of our board is to facilitate local Humanitas activities in the three domains: Youth, Buddy Projects and Home Administration. In addition, the board is responsible for internal and external communication and raising subsidies and funds. All this in collaboration with a professional district office.

Your portfolio:

Your portfolio currently includes two activities: Tandem and Keeping in Touch.

  • Humanitas Tandem is a broad Buddy project for people who are socially isolated. Volunteers try to break the isolation together with the participants by undertaking all kinds of activities.
  • Humanitas Contact Keeping is for people who, due to their disability or chronic illness, physically or psychologically, have difficulty participating in society, although they would like to do so.

Your tasks:

  • You are responsible for the proper functioning of the department's activities
  • Actively support the activity coordinators in drawing up plans and leading the activity
  • Inform yourself about policy plans of municipalities and agencies in the field of welfare, care and services, transitions and decentralization
  • Advising the board on relevant developments within the field of Humanitas assistance
  • Develop initiatives for new activities within the framework of the departmental policy plan
  • Manage the budget for the activities in consultation with the finance portfolio holder
  • Consult with other relevant providers in the region
  • Maintaining contacts with the subsidy providers of the activities and the local network
  • Carrying out recruitment activities; ensuring subsidies together with the finance portfolio holder

Your time investment:

  • You are available for Humanitas an average of 4 to 8 hours per week (during the day and/or in the evenings)
  • Participate in the department's board meeting approximately 10 times a year (in the evenings)

You have:

  • a service institution
  • organizational ability
  • preferably managerial experience
  • knowledge and affinity with healthcare and assistance in the region; knowing what requests for help there are (knowing the person seeking help) and which organizations are active in the field of care and assistance
  • knowledge and affinity with the association
  • good oral and written communication skills

You are:

  • a team player
  • communicative
  • someone who quickly and enjoys connecting with others
  • (personally) involved in the requests for help
  • We strive for more diversity in our board and would like to call on women to respond
