Taalmaatje

The Humanitas project Taalmaats helps people who integrate with learning the Dutch language. This is mainly done by practicing together in practice.

As a result, a language buddy gets to know other cultures in a unique way and thus contributes to a better society. The volunteer as a language buddy helps people to save themselves in Dutch society.

The volunteers are supported by a coordinating volunteer who also takes care of the training. At the Humanitas department Maastricht-Heuvelland there is currently room for expansion and that is why we are looking for you to strengthen our team as a volunteer:

The function:

As a volunteer you provide support, approximately 2 hours a week, in participants' homes in learning the Dutch language in the field of speaking, reading and writing skills.

This is tailor-made and depends on the level of the participant. You also support the participants in activities outside the home, such as shopping together, preparing visits to authorities and/or visiting a doctor.

We ask the candidates:

· that you are available on average 2 hours per week;

· have good social skills;

· is open to other cultures;

· do you enjoy guiding participants in the Netherlands;

· you can teach participants to develop independently;

· you have a good command of the Dutch language, both orally and in writing;

· you are eager to learn and involved in our changing society;

· you want to promote the social participation of the participants.

· you put the Humanitas values into practice.
