The Humanitas buddy project Homeless and Homeless is committed to the social participation of (former) homeless people.
The buddy project offers the opportunity to break through loneliness and to stimulate and support social participation. At the Humanitas department Maastricht-Heuvelland there is currently room for expansion of volunteers as a buddy and that is why we are looking for you to strengthen our team as:

The function:
As a volunteer you have a usually rewarding, sometimes difficult task. This gratitude must mainly be found in the feeling of helping project participants to improve living conditions, break through social isolation and promote behavior that enables them to participate socially in society. Company and doing everyday things are central. It is also possible that participants seek a bit of practical support, such as help with shopping or going to the GP/hospital together.
What do we ask:
as a volunteer…
· are you someone who loves people;
· Do you have a positive attitude and can you create a good atmosphere?
· you have empathy and respect for the living situation and way of life of the participants;
· do you have initiative and take the first step in contact;
· Are you a strong personality, do you know what you want and especially don't want. Do you know clear boundaries, and are you willing to stick to the boundaries that are given to you by the coordinator of the project;
· are you open to people who can be ''different'';
· you have a few hours once a week to interact with a participant as a buddy;
· you put the Humanitas values into practice.
