Summary

Wende Events is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer, a creative position for those who like to roll up their sleeves.

Detailed description

Who are we?
Wende wants to connect: bring people with a form of autism together and have a pleasant evening or activity. Do fun things and share experiences. Meeting new people and building social contacts in a pleasant, calm environment. Wende derives its raison d'être from champs of volunteers. All different and all curious, passionate and supportive. Volunteers with and without autism.

In addition to the Wende Autism Cafe, Wende regularly organizes other activities for its participants. This varies from a movie night, theater to walks in the woods. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who can help us organize fun and appealing activities,

Role and responsibilities
-
As a volunteer of Wende Events you work together with another volunteer in organizing activities for people with autism.
- You receive participants, welcome them, put them at ease and help ensure that it becomes a pleasant activity.
- You are part of the Wende working group, in which you work together with the volunteers of the autism cafe to expand Wende's success. The working group meets four times a year, with e-mail contact in between when necessary.

What where?
Individual activities - about once a month, always changing in theme, place or content. Going to the movies or a museum together, going for a walk or bike ride, a creative or sporting meeting, etc.

NB: Due to Corona, the times and frequency of the activities are different from normal due to all measures. Activities are not taking place now or online. We can of course use this time to plan online about activities that will probably be allowed again later, hence this vacancy.

Role and responsibilities
- You are available for a few more hours per activity and you are reliable in your commitment.
- You come up with an activity together with the coordinator of Wende Events and you will set it up. Final responsibility rests with the coordinator.
- Creativity, time pressure and surprises are part of it. Just like having contact with other entrepreneurs or organizations; inquire and find out things by mail or ball contact.
- You may be the contact person during the recruitment of participants.
- During the activities you are of course also there, if you succeed. This can be as a participant or in the role of host/hostess.
- Afterwards there is a short evaluation and a look ahead to the next activity

We ask
- You have a service-oriented and investigative attitude.
- You are enterprising, enthusiastic and like organizing and figuring things out.
- You are active, you can work well together and you like to have contact with people.

We offer
We offer the opportunity to gain work experience in the social domain. You are committed to your fellow man with autism and you are active in part of the welfare network in Apeldoorn. This commitment is very welcome, much appreciated and is completely voluntary. The Wende activities are unique and fun. And of course the consumptions of the volunteers are at the expense of Wende.

Time use
-
Preparation and execution of a monthly activity
- Attend the working group meetings a few times a year jaar
