Wende: a cozy meeting café for and by people with a form of autism. Wende's goal is to bring people with a form of autism together and have a pleasant evening. Doing and sharing fun things, meeting new people and building social contacts in a pleasant and peaceful environment. Wende derives its raison d'être from champs of volunteers. All different, but all curious, passionate and supportive. Volunteers with and without autism.
Tasks volunteers
Be present on Wende evenings and host / hostess. Receiving (new) visitors and bringing them into contact with other visitors. You treat each other with respect and interest. You inform Gigant's staff about Wende.
Helping out in the organization of Wende, together with the other volunteers and a Gigant employee. Tasks are for example: recruiting new visitors, maintaining the Wende app group, providing information about Wende.
Be present at and participate in the Wende working group meetings. About four times a year. Volunteers and the employees of Gigant and MEE then come together to discuss Wende's progress. The Wende working group also organizes events about autism, together with others.
When is there a Wende meeting cafe
Every second Monday evening and fourth Tuesday evening of the month there is a Wende meeting café. We don't have a fixed program, it's about the meeting. Wende starts at 7pm and ends at 10pm
