Detailed description
Staatsbosbeheer is looking for a volunteer for Buitencentrum Almeerderhout in Flevoland. As a host, you provide information during the weekends and / or on weekdays. You speak to visitors, provide brochure material and children's treasure hunts and sell items from the store. You do this together with a permanent employee and in a team of enthusiastic volunteers. The team is supervised by a coordinator from Staatsbosbeheer. Do you enjoy involving people in nature and do you want to know more about nature and your living environment? Then Staatsbosbeheer is looking for you!
Who are we looking for?
As a volunteer of Staatsbosbeheer you have an affinity with nature. You are customer-friendly and customer-oriented and you can work well together. You are willing to help at least 3 days a month, especially in the weekends.
Where is it?
The city forests around Almere only reveal their secrets if you walk in the middle of them. Then you forget that this is Flevoland. The rustling poplars, the rustling scrub. The open forest meadows with grazing roe deer. The forest therefore seems much older than it is. Trees of barely 20 years old look like they are at least a century old. Around 2050 the oaks and beeches in the polder forests will have grown into majestic forest giants.
What we offer
Of course we will not throw you in the deep end. You get information about the Stadsbossen Almere and Buitencentrum Almeerderhout. After that you will be extensively trained by fellow volunteers and employees of Staatsbosbeheer. We offer inspiring work in a beautiful environment, nice colleagues and enthusiastic visitors who can offer you a unique nature experience, in close collaboration with the foresters. As a volunteer of Staatsbosbeheer you receive a free subscription to our quarterly magazine Naarbuiten, the volunteer magazine Veldpost and a small expense allowance. The current reimbursement is € 4.50 per day or travel costs up to a maximum of € 9.50 each time.
