Willem likes to be outside

Who is William?

Willem is a 73-year-old man with a severe intellectual disability. He cannot communicate through words, but takes you by the hand when he wants to make something clear. Willem is completely dependent on his guidance.

Inside his house he walks a lot and, if possible, sits outside in the sun. For longer distances outdoors, he uses a wheelchair.

Willem gets along well with everyone and has no problem with unfamiliar people.

He enjoys the outdoors.

Willem has epilepsy, on average he has 2 seizures per year.

You will be trained as a volunteer by his guidance.

What does William ask?

We are looking for a volunteer for Willem who prefers to visit him every other week on Friday or possibly at the weekend.

Someone who enjoys being outside for a walk, watching fun activities, or somewhere to eat or drink.

Within 's Heeren Loo, the efforts of volunteers are valuable. They contribute to a meaningful

existence of people with intellectual disabilities. Thanks to the many volunteers of

's Heeren Loo we can organize extra activities and personal attention and

fulfill client needs. Think of taking a walk, playing a game or

just having a good conversation over a cup of coffee.
