Who is Lotte?

Lotte is a naturally cheerful woman of 35 years old with a severe intellectual disability. She lives in a residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo, where she receives 24-hour care. When Lotte is happy, she clearly shows this. She jumps and runs and makes happy sounds. She loves dancing to music (k3 and Kinderen voor kinderen), walking, going out or just looking outside from the living room. If she doesn't want something, she clearly says no. You can compare her developmental age with that of a 2-year-old. She speaks in short sentences or with a few words. It is therefore important to talk to her in simple language. This is also supported by referrers. During the week she goes to day care, adapted to her level of development, where she can also cycle nicely on the new bicycle. A church service is held at the residential care park almost every Sunday. This is also something that Lotte really likes to go to. This is a church service for everyone and for every age or level. One enjoys the songs, another listens attentively to the stories and yet another sways quietly back and forth. Lotte likes to dance to the songs and enjoys the gathering.

What is Lotte asking?

It would be great for Lotte if she could go to church on Sunday with a volunteer. Someone who can offer her proximity and enjoy the church service with her. You don't have to be religious for this. The atmosphere of such a service is special for everyone. As a volunteer, you pick her up from the home at the residential care park around 10:00 and walk together to the Vierhuis, which is a short distance away. The church service is from 10:30 to 11:30 and then you walk back. Those 2 hours on Sunday morning are of great added value to Lotte.
