Detailed description
Who are we?
We live in a residential group with men between the ages of 64 and 80 at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. People with a low intellectual level live there; comparable to a baby to toddler age. Some of us can talk a little, some a few words and some don't speak. But gradually you learn to understand everyone. We enjoy old-fashioned music, walking in nature, going to the Brasserie, going to church and participating in quiet activities. Due to our physical disability, we are often in a wheelchair. As a result, we cannot go to church independently. This is something we really look forward to. We all experience this in our own way. One sings along to the songs, another sits comfortably alone and yet another finds it beautiful to be there together. When the weather is nice, we also like to walk outside in nature at our park.
What are we asking?
We are particularly looking for volunteers who want to go to church with us on Sundays (het Vierhuis) at the residential care park. It is also possible that you as a volunteer go to church with a few others. We will then carefully consider who can come along. We also like to listen to music from the past together, we like to walk in nature or having lunch at our Brasserie is always a treat. We prefer to go out every week, but once every two weeks or once a month is also very nice. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and duos are also very welcome! The church service starts at 10:30 and the walk can be in the morning or in the afternoon. Sometimes an hour is already a very nice start to the Sunday! Would you like to come and meet us?
