We are looking for help every day with painting pots for our day care group

Who are we?

We are a labor-based day care group for clients of 's Heeren Loo. It is a changing composition of clients every day. We consist of 2 groups of candle makers. Each group has approximately 8 clients between the ages of 18 and 73, all of whom have an intellectual disability. From mildly intellectually disabled (level comparable to primary school age) to severely mentally disabled (baby-toddler level). Each client participates/cooperates at his own level based on the request for help.

The candles we make are delivered throughout the country and sold to web shops, stores, companies and institutions, among others. In addition to making candles, there is also room for relaxation and activation activities.

What do we ask?

Candles are made all year round, including garden candles. These are first painted white by hand. Unfortunately, we do not have all the time for this ourselves and in recent years this has been done by a volunteer for a few hours every day. Unfortunately, she is no longer there and we are urgently looking for volunteers who can do this for and with us. In addition, the volunteer could also help with other activities together with clients and supervisors. But painting the pots is what is really needed most! We ask for a volunteer who has the patience to work accurately (there is a technique behind it that you cannot easily master). Who likes to have 1 major main task. Someone who enjoys it when clients come along to help or just have a chat, but can also work alone.

In short; you are very popular here as a volunteer! Without volunteers we cannot take our day care group to the level it is now. Will you come and help us for a few hours once a week or for a few hours several days?

Thanks to the many volunteers from 'Heeren Loo, we can organize extra activities and provide personal attention and wishes for clients. Think of taking a walk, playing a game or just having a good conversation while enjoying a cup of coffee.
