Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bible storyteller who can provide a storytelling service for our clients in the Vierhuis at 's Heeren Loo once every 8 weeks.

Detailed description

Who are we?

At our residential care park, people with intellectual and sometimes physical disabilities live and work in a protected environment. Some of these people attach great value to attending storytelling and worship services in our church 'het Vierhuis' on the grounds of 's Heeren Loo. The differences in perception of such a service are large. One literally understands what you say, the other finds peace in the recognition of this meeting. Per storytelling service, about fifty clients come with or without guidance.

What do we ask?

's Heeren Loo has a team of chaplains. They are looking for enthusiastic people who are familiar with the Bible for the storytelling services. Volunteers who can tell Bible stories in a fun, spontaneous way. There is already a small team of volunteers who rotate once every few weeks with the storytelling services. It would be very nice if one or two more volunteers could join us. Then it's your turn once every 8 weeks on Sunday. The service lasts about half an hour. Having an affinity with people with a mental disability and experience with child side services is an advantage. The Kinder op Zondag website contains beautiful examples of stories that can be told. But everyone is free to tell a different story. So you make the program yourself in advance. Are you interested in attending a service or do you have any questions? Then we are happy to talk to you.

We offer you

  • A nice volunteer place
  • An end of year gift
  • Insured for WA and accidents
  • Travel allowance
  • Annual volunteer party as a thank you for your efforts
  • Possibility of training and information meetings
  • Committed contribution to clients
  • Plenty of appreciation and a priceless experience

Organization information

Within 's Heeren Loo, the efforts of volunteers are valuable. They contribute to a meaningful life for people with an intellectual disability. Thanks to the many volunteers of 's Heeren Loo, we can organize extra activities and fulfill personal attention and wishes for clients. Think of taking a walk, playing a game or just having a good conversation while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Enthusiastic?

Register at volunteers.apeldoorn@sheerenloo.nl . Or contact Inge Uiterweerd for more information on 06 2512 6920.

A VOG is required from you to work with our clients. This is requested via 's Heeren Loo, this is completely free.
