Laura is looking for a visiting friend

Function information

Laura is a friendly 37-year-old woman with a mild intellectual disability. She has recently been living in a home with 9 other fellow clients. She can express herself well verbally and with help in structuring her day, she is self-reliant. Laura is pleasant to deal with when she feels familiar and safe. She has trouble with people who are very direct.

Laura has been experiencing anxiety and tension complaints for a long time and these have quite a major impact on her life.

She is looking for a visiting friend about her own age (between 30 and 40 years old) with whom she can do more fun activities and who also wants to support her with things that she finds difficult. Think, for example, of visiting a party or other social activities where contact with others plays a role.

As a visiting friend of Laura, it is important that you have some knowledge about anxiety and tension complaints and know how to deal with them, of course we want to help and inform you. We are sure that if it clicks between you, Laura will be very happy with it and the confidence in herself and her own abilities can also be further built.

Thanks to the many volunteers of 's Heeren Loo, we can organize extra activities and fulfill personal attention and wishes for clients. Think of taking a walk, playing a game or just having a good conversation while enjoying a cup of coffee.
