Summary

Karel is looking for a volunteer who will come especially for him on a Wednesday afternoon during the weekend or in the evening.

Detailed description

Who is Karel?

Karel is a 21-year-old young man with a moderate intellectual disability. He understands what you say and can communicate in a normal way. Karel is fully mobile and traffic safe (bicycle). He can really enjoy all the little things in his own way. He also enjoys 1 on 1 attention and doing activities together. The volunteer's art is to hold his attention for more than an hour, because his attention span is a bit short. It is important to encourage him in this. Examples of activities you could do with Karel are: bowling, eating an ice cream, touring in the car, swimming, possibly boxing.

What is Karel asking?

Karel asks someone who comes by once a week, 2 weeks or a month to do fun little activities with him. Age and gender matter less than the click he might have with his volunteer. Someone who knows how to stimulate and motivate him to complete the activity and to keep his attention. Patience and a calm open appearance is nice.

We offer you:

  • A nice volunteer place
  • An end of year gift
  • Insured for WA and accidents
  • Travel allowance
  • Annual volunteer party as a thank you for your efforts
  • Possibility of training and information meetings
  • Committed contribution to clients
  • Plenty of appreciation and a priceless experience
