Summary

Gerrie is looking for someone to visit her at fixed times

Detailed description

Who is Gerrie?
Gerrie is a 61-year-old woman with an intellectual disability. She lives in a residential group in 's HeerenLoo. She functions at an age of 3-4 years. Gerrie is a good talker, so she is easily questioned. Gerrie understands entire sentences and likes to sit on the talking chair, so listening is not always possible. She likes a joke! She uses a walker for short distances and a wheelchair for longer distances. Gerrie likes games, knitting, mini-steck and a nice chat, but she also likes to cycle on the side-by-side tandem. She sometimes finds things difficult and shows this in her behaviour, she relates this to herself.

What does Gerrie ask?
Gerrie is looking for someone who is calm and patient, who also occasionally jokes and offers a listening ear. It would be nice if the volunteer could arrange a fixed day. It is not important which day, but preferably not immediately after lunch. Gerrie would like to have a nice chat, drink coffee, go for a walk or ride the side-by-side tandem with her volunteer. Gerrie always looks forward to visitors and also indicates that she would like you to visit. She can happily run to visitors with her walker and express her enthusiasm by cuddling. She also approaches people who are familiar to her to be able to tell her story, if she finds things a bit more difficult. In addition to visiting, video calling is also an option.

We offer you
  • A nice volunteer place
  • An end-of-year gift
  • Insured for third party liability and accidents
  • Travel allowance
  • Annual volunteer party as a thank you for your efforts
  • Possibility of training and information meetings
