Summary

We are looking for someone who can accompany Naomi to the innovation room for an hour once a week.

Detailed description

Who is Naomi?

Naomi is a 34-year-old woman with an intellectual disability. She is often cheerful. She speaks short sentences and understands spoken language at her level (2 years) she needs a short line with the guidance and is dependent on this. Clarity is very important to her. She is very sensitive and gauges your state of mind. She will briefly touch you, feel your hands or hug you. This is where you set your own limits. Most of the time Naomi is easy to guide, but there are times when she has a hard time. Moments in which she is questioned and loses the overview. Then she can express her dissatisfaction physically. The guidance can tell you how to deal with this. You have to gain her trust, but if she allows you into her world, you often see a cheerful Naomi.

What is Naomi asking?

We are looking for a woman of 30 years or older. A pleasant volunteer who can be bright and clear. Someone who has an hour once a week and who enjoys going to the innovation room with her to discover new things. It is not yet known which day this will be, but this will be discussed.

Have you always wanted to swim with dolphins? Cracks on a motorcycle? Walking around Madurodam? Cycling in New York? It's possible! Visit the Innovation Area at Groot Schuylenburg. Here is life:

  • nice, because you see beautiful things like a Magic Mirror and real robots.
  • nice, because you will experience exciting and funny things that you have never done before. Like a bike ride in New York or in another metropolis.
  • easy, because you will find all kinds of useful products that help you in everyday life.
Everything you see in the Innovation Room originated from a question from someone with an intellectual disability, or from a question from their relative or supervisor. This is the only way to create products that really contribute to a fun, beautiful and easy life for someone with a mental disability. The Innovation Area develops and collaborates with clients of 's Heeren Loo, their families, supervisors, students and companies. This does not create 'average solutions for general use', but solutions that really work

We offer you

  • A nice volunteer place
  • An end-of-year gift
  • Insured for third party liability and accidents
  • Travel allowance
  • Annual volunteer party as a thank you for your efforts
  • Possibility of training and information meetings
  • Committed contribution to the clients
  • Full appreciation and a priceless experience
