Detailed description
Wanted: voluntary moderators for the online community on nieren.nl
The Nierpatiënten Vereniging Nederland and the Nierstichting together develop nieren.nl: a new and powerful platform for all people with kidney disease and those involved. The launch is in the spring of 2018. This platform provides information about the different types of kidney disease, treatments and about living with chronic kidney damage (library). There is also a digital meeting place where kidney patients and others can share experiences, information and tips (community). For this community we are looking for moderators.
What does a moderator do?
The moderator plays an important role on nieren.nl. You are the first point of contact for questions, comments and suggestions about the community at nieren.nl. You provide a safe place, where people can share their experiences, worries or questions in a pleasant atmosphere, without answering the same content, unless you are specifically deployed and agreements have been made with the community manager. You act as a host or hostess. & Nbsp;
How much time am I moderating?
That depends on several factors, but we now assume an average of 4 hours a week. This is an average, so it can fluctuate per week. We expect a moderator to reserve this 4 hours per week. An online community is active every day of the week, including weekends and evenings. It is good to take this into account. You can do this work at home, all you need is an internet connection and a PC, laptop, mobile or tablet. & Nbsp;
What else do we expect from a moderator? & Nbsp;
It is important that as a moderator you know what we expect from you and what you can expect from the voluntary position. That is why we have drawn up a job profile for moderators, in which the purpose of the function, tasks, responsibilities, knowledge and skills are laid down. On the basis of the aforementioned job profile you can form an image of this voluntary job yourself. As a moderator on the community, your work is not so much technical, on the contrary. In addition to substantive issues, you will also have to deal with the emotional aspects related to kidney disease. Empathy plays an important role in this and you will also have to be firmly in your shoes. & Nbsp;
What do we offer you?
Of course we do a lot making it possible for you to be able to fulfill your role as a moderator as optimally as possible. You will receive extensive training and support by, Basma Djemni, community manager (responsible for the entire community). You are part of a group of moderators with which you can consult and exchange experiences. This can be done online or offline during the moderator meetings. Nieren.nl is a new platform with an enthusiastic team. You can be part of that! As a moderator you make a special contribution to supporting kidney patients, donors and their loved ones. If you like and where possible, you will be invited to useful and enjoyable activities that are regularly organized by both the Dutch Kidney Patients Association and the Kidney Foundation. Naturally, expenses are reimbursed. You gain work experience as a moderator of a so-called 'care community' and thus fulfill a pioneering role!
Appointment procedure
Before you are appointed as a moderator : - Have a conversation with the community manager to get the expectations clear. - You get a training by the community manager of nieren.nl. This is given in Bussum and takes about four hours. In this you learn nieren.nl in the width, you get information about the house rules on nieren.nl and you are trained in moderating and monitoring what the participants of nieren.nl publish in blogs, personal information and conversations in the groups.
Because you have to deal with sensitive personal data on nieren.nl and to guarantee the rights and obligations of you and your fellow moderators, we have drawn up a legal agreement, which we both sign. Moderators are appointed as volunteers by the organization Kidneys, which formally falls under the responsibility of the foundation nieren.nl io
We hope that this gives you more clarity about the voluntary function of moderator in kidneys. NL. If you have further questions or comments, we would like to hear from you.
