The centuries-old Athenaeum library, founded in 1560, is the oldest city library in the Netherlands. The library, together with the Historical Center Overijssel, is housed at Klooster 12, in the buildings of the Buiskens House, a former sister house of the Modern Devotion. Visitors can visit Klooster 12 to inspect materials that cannot be borrowed from the collection. In addition, there are regular exhibitions, featuring items from the collection of the Athenaeum library or other cultural institutions. We are looking for hosts who want to supervise our exhibitions and be the first point of contact for our visitors. What you are going to do for us: As Athenaeum Library host / hostess you are also the face of the library and you have the important role to receive visitors hospitably. You are the first calling card for visitors. You can tell visitors more about the exhibition that is currently on view. Visitors who come to view materials are referred to the reading room. You can answer frequently asked questions about, for example, viewing and borrowing books. For other questions, refer visitors to employees of the Athenaeum library. You work independently with an employee as a backup.
