THE WAGENINGEN PEOPLE'S UNIVERSITY IS LOOKING FOR A LANGUAGE COORDINATOR

What do we do?  

For over 50 years, the VUW has offered a varied educational program for a wide audience at locations in Wageningen, Bennekom, Ede, and Renkum. The program now includes approximately 125 courses and lectures, including more than 50 language courses. The atmosphere is informal, and there are no exams. No stress, just fun! Activities are preferably in the classroom and sometimes, if necessary, online. After all, meeting each other is part of the fun.

In the spring of 2026, one of our language coordinators will be leaving.

Are you the all-rounder who ensures our teachers and students can focus on learning a new language in a pleasant atmosphere? Our two language coordinators are the contacts for our language teachers and students. They also handle curriculum development and all related matters, including recruiting language teachers.

The language coordinators are members of the VUW board. This participatory board consists of 10 enthusiastic volunteers. As a board member, you contribute to the course program, outline short- and long-term plans, ensure continuity and finances, and respond to social developments. The board is supported by one part-time administrative assistant. Board members are appointed for a three-year term, renewable once.

What are you bringing?

• Affinity with informal adult education
• A broad social interest
• You are a jack-of-all-trades with administrative and organizational skills
• Living in Wageningen or the surrounding area
• Willingness to attend meetings (once every 4 weeks, except during holidays).
