Chairman of the Velsen food bank

The Velsen Food Bank Foundation is committed to households that are temporarily unable to put a healthy meal on the table every day by offering them a free food package every week. The national standard of Food Banks is used.

Voedselbank Velsen does not receive any subsidies and is dependent on donors, local suppliers, supermarket campaigns and financial gifts and we work exclusively with volunteers. Voedselbank Velsen is affiliated with the Vereniging Voedselbanken Nederland and uses the expertise, experience, mission and goals of this organization. The Voedselbanken Nederland association has a central board.

We are currently looking for a

chairman of the board

What are the tasks and responsibilities:

· Establishing and chairing board meetings based on an agenda regarding policy, activities and continuity of the Foundation;

· Occasionally attend other internal meetings and is regularly present on Fridays in the Brulboei and/or De Abeel;

· Monitoring the established policy, including the method of decision-making within the organization, based on the vision and mission of the Velsen Food Bank;

· Monitoring the structure of the organization, including the distribution of portfolios;

· Monitoring the responsibilities and authorities of portfolio holders within their sector;

· Supervision of the coordination and connection between policy areas at administrative level;

· Building a network of organizations and/or individuals that are relevant to the Foundation

· Maintaining contacts with the Municipality of Velsen, Socius and other parties active in combating poverty;

· Contribute annually to the annual management and financial report;

· Attend 3 to 4 national and 4 provincial meetings per year, half of which are online.

· someone who has a feeling for working with volunteers and regularly shows interest and appreciation;

· someone who is socially involved and familiar with socio-economic developments in the region, has insight into bottlenecks and is prepared to make connections and seek coordination with persons and/or organisations that are active at an administrative level within the social domain;

· someone who, as chairman, can lead a board that rolls up its sleeves and, together with them, leads the collaboration process;
