Help organize: June 20 World Refugee Day Wageningen

Who are we?

Refugee Under the Roof (VOD) stands up for the interests of refugees whose first request for asylum has been rejected. The Dutch government no longer offers them shelter and support is discontinued. Thousands of asylum seekers are thrown out on the streets every year. Often ill and traumatized, without facilities, while it often turns out that they can still qualify for a residence permit. VOD is making a strong case for these refugees in Wageningen and the surrounding area, with a large number of volunteers.

Events team:

Do you enjoy organizing meetings, fun activities or other events? Do you like to write a press release or do you have ideas about how we can bring the work of VOD more in the spotlight? Refugee Under the Roof is looking for volunteers who, as part of a small and close-knit team, are willing to promote our organization. This with the aim of recruiting new volunteers and promoting the organization among the wider public.

As a volunteer you would really help us with:

• Organizing meetings such as an Open Day, meeting café, neighbors day, lecture, etc;
• Promote VOD at existing events, such as the Liberation Festival or the Molenmarkt;
• Actively contribute ideas and propose promotional campaigns;
• Developing PR material such as flyers, posters, and online media.

We are looking for someone who:

• Affinity with refugees, undocumented migrants and Refugee Under the Roof;
• Likes to arrange and organize;
• Enthusiastic, creative and driven;
• Has good communication skills;
• Flexible and available on a call basis.
