About the Vechtstreek Museum

The Vechtstreek Museum is located in park Goudestein on the Vecht in Maarssen. It is located in the former Silverstein country estate, which after the renovation served as Goudestein's coach house.

The museum focuses on the culture, history and art of the entire Vecht region. The permanent collection in particular pays a lot of attention to the historic buildings and tea domes, with a special room for the Huydecoper family, who built the original country estate.

Every year there are special exhibitions and guided tours, both inside and outside the museum. There are also various films that give a good picture of various highlights and sights in the Vecht region.

Treasurer job profile

The treasurer is responsible for the financial and administrative part of the organization and his duties are aimed at keeping the figures, reports and overviews in order. In addition, he determines whether the plans of the board are financially feasible and he translates the policy into a financial overview. You can think of activities such as:

ï invoicing, or the management and control thereof;

ï managing the organisation's checking and savings account(s) and cash;

ï the membership administration;

ï the creditors and debtors administration;

ï process tax returns & assessments;

ï financial reports such as annual reports or annual accounts;

ï making periodic budgets;

ï taking out relevant insurance policies;

ï signing payment orders;

ï attending meetings;

ï other financial decisions and activities.

Guaranteeing activities / first and second treasurer and further division of activities .

In view of the multiplicity of work and the guarantee of continuity of the task performance of the treasurer's activities, it has been decided to divide the tasks between two people, namely a first and second treasurer, whereby, for example, a distinction can be made between the activities of the treasurer as such on the one hand and the reporting within the board in the three-weekly board meeting on the other. The current treasurer will accompany the new 2nd treasurer (candidate) for a certain period of time (to be determined in consultation with the candidate) and act as first treasurer. The intention is that the current treasurer gradually transfers his management duties to the new treasurer (who will become 1st treasurer in the future). The current treasurer will then act as 2nd treasurer. Further agreements about the division of work and the timing of the transfer of tasks will of course be made in close consultation.

Working hours, frequency and duration:

A board meeting every three weeks. Working hours and frequency can be entered yourself. After the training period, the treasurer is appointed for a period of 4 years. After that it is possible to be reappointed.

General:

In time and in consultation with the current treasurer, you will become part of the board of the Vechtstreekmuseum, which consists of 7 people. On the one hand, we work on the board in a business-like and professional manner to achieve our objectives, and on the other hand, we also find conviviality very important. The museum has 60 volunteers. We regularly meet each other in meetings and every year we organize a very nice day for all volunteers. Then we go out together for a day, to another museum or another activity. There is also a periodic employee newsletter to keep in touch and to stay informed about the ups and downs of the museum. There is a caring and warm atmosphere among them.
