Summary
Are you willing to work as a pharmacy assistant in a developing country such as The Gambia? Then you will gain a special experience there.
Detailed description
You will work in a small village pharmacy where patients sometimes come without a doctor's prescription and where together with the pharmacist you determine which medicine people need for their complaint or illness. You can also combine this project with a professional hospital pharmacy. There you work closely with doctors and nurses who advise on the medicines to be taken for the patient. You will learn a lot, also about complaints or diseases that are not or hardly occur in the Netherlands.
We ask;
* You are at least 18 years old on the departure date.
* You are physically and mentally healthy.
* You are patient, flexible, reliable and interested in other cultures.
* You have experience regarding the vacancy or you follow a training for this.
* There is an application procedure.
* You pay the costs that voluntary work in The Gambia entails, such as preparation and supervision costs, airline tickets, accommodation costs and meals.
We offer;

* Pick-up from the airport.
* Introduction day in The Gambia.
* A guest address which serves as a home base where the volunteer can go with questions and relax himself.
