As a webshop coordinator, you help develop and grow our webshop and, through the sale of our handmade crafts, contribute to supporting deaf people in Uganda.

About Talking Hands Foundation

Talking Hands Foundation is committed to supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda, with a special focus on education, inclusion, and equal opportunities. We believe in a world where everyone has the opportunity to develop their potential and build an independent and dignified life.

To help fund our projects, we sell unique handmade products created by deaf women in Uganda. These talented artisans craft beautiful bags, skirts, baskets, wallets, belt bags, stuffed toys, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets using local, natural materials and colourful African fabrics.

Each product tells its own creative and cultural story. Through these sales, we support educational programmes for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and young people in Uganda while also creating employment opportunities and economic empowerment for deaf women.

What will you do?

As a Webshop Coordinator, you will play an important role in the continued development and growth of our webshop. You will:

  • help expand and further develop our webshop while learning to work with WordPress and WooCommerce;
  • coordinate product photography and write engaging product descriptions;
  • manage webshop inventory and process orders;
  • support webshop promotion together with colleagues from communications and fundraising;
  • monitor product performance and identify when stock needs replenishment.

Who are we looking for?

You:

  • are motivated to contribute to a meaningful cause and create social impact;
  • have an interest in online sales and digital platforms;
  • are organised and detail-oriented;
  • are proactive and enjoy taking initiative.

Time commitment

On average, 2–4 hours per week, with some additional availability during busier periods such as the holiday season.
